Best machine?

which one is the best machine at gym when you want to get rid of the fat on your love handles as in the area above your hips and loose stomach.Any suggestion for first timmer at gym.Best machine?
I agree with the first answer, cross trainers are great. You're going to have to do lots of cardio to lose the extra flab around your middle, but you also need to do crunches to tone the muscles. You also need to do strength training. The more muscle you have in your body, the more calories you burn.
I've been using a cross trainer for the past year. It provides a total body/cardio workout. I use it 5 days a week, 30 minutes a day. I've lost a ton of weight on this machine....
Talk to the exercise therapist at the gym. Spot reducing is not possible, but variations on situps may strengthen the abdominal muscles and help you to look more trim.
