Birth Control?

Can anyone tell me about the uva ring ??, Or the birth control ring ,, i am starting it next week ?Birth Control?
i love the nuva ring. because the release of hormones is constant and steady there are less side effects. you just put it in on the first day of your cycle, and remove it 3 weeks later. leave it out for 7 days, then start over with a new one. (if you go to the website you can download a program to remind you when to take it out and put a new one in.) it stays in pretty good, but if something happens and it comes out, you can just rinse it off and stick it back in. (don't let it stay out more than 3 hours) you will need a back up method of birth control the first 7 days (you will probably be bleeding anyway), but after that you are protected.
One of my girlfriends uses it and she says its great. It's supposed to insert just like a tampon and you leave it there, I think she said a week or so before your period and then you take it out, have your period and shove a new one back in.
Well this ring that you speak of is a little smaller than the ring around a diaphragm or a female condom. It is a clear plastic like the ring around the female condom besides it being smaller it contains hormones. It is also inserted the same way as a diaphragm or a female condom. Nonetheless it is easier to insert because of its size.
It is inserted into the area in front of the cervix and beyond the vaginal canal.
