After delivery the hospital gave me lots of Obstetrical Antiseptic Towelettes - What are these for?
They are for wiping the perineum and rectum after using the bathroom, especially if you've had an episiotomy. They are to keep the chances of an infection reduced to a bare minimum. If you haven't been using them, you need to start. Also, you can clean the area with a little witch hazel on a cotton ball.
My wife gave birth three weeks ago and got the same towelettes. There to relieve Hemrroids and to keep the area clean and disinfected incase you ripped.
